Balloon Twisting

2020!

What a crazy year it was. Who could ever forget. Well I guess that is where it all started. Spring was in bloom and the rise of covid was on the brink. It was time to Plan for my daughters fourth Birthday. It was always something my wife and I enjoyed, but this year would be a little different. Normally it’s a trip up to great wolf lodge or to the local bounce house but not this year. A sign was hung on every door “CLOSED”.

What were we to do? It was time to get creative.

The goal was to hear that laughter every parent wants to hear from their child on their birthday. The planning begin. first get the items needed balloon kit, balloon twisting supplies, clown makeup, and I needed to create some fun magic tricks (thanks to my oldest daughter Sofia for making this possible). Next was to learn how to balloon twist. I had to think of some balloon twisting ideas. Thanks to youtube and a lot of popped balloons I was able to create the infamous “balloon dog”.

It was finally show time. With the live audience and the at home viewers (The grandparents, aunts and uncles watching through Skype). “Starring clown Michael” said Sofia. And here I came dressed as a clown, juggling, performing funny kids magic tricks and of course providing balloon animals. The goal of bringing joy to my daughter on her fourth birthday had been a success.
